Time Magazine Recognizes an Innovative Project by Aleatica: Charging Electric Vehicles as They Are Driven on the Highway

Mexico City, December 9, 2021. TIME magazine has recognized Aleatica’s collaborative project, called Arena of the Future, as one of the 100 most important inventions of 2021 for its contribution to sustainable mobility.

The project, developed together with international partners, public institutions, and academics, allows electric cars to charge while traveling on A35 Brebemi highway, managed by Aleatica, in Italy.

Project trials show significant progress towards a world in which mobility is based on dynamic induction charging as an energy source for highway travel.

Every year, TIME consults with its editors and correspondents around the world to choose the year’s most innovative inventions. This year, the inventions run from COVID-19 and malaria vaccines to emotional support robots for hospitalized children.

In addition to Aleatica, the organizations collaborating on the Arena of the Future include: ElectReon, ABB, FIAMM Energy Technology, and many more.
