Aleatica has unveiled its Sustainability Annual Report 2023, titled “Investing Today in Tomorrow’s Mobility.” This report highlights actions taken over the past year and the positive impact that its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy has had across the seven countries where it operates.
In Latin America and Europe, Aleatica’s transportation infrastructure assets include 16 highways, 2 commercial ports, 1 light rail, and 1 airport.
Aleatica measures its global impact through five core pillars: Safety first, Social and Environmental Sustainability, Excellence in Service, Passion for our Team, and Corporate Governance.
Safety is and always will be Aleatica’s top priority. From 2020 to 2024, the company invested 156 million euros in its Accident Reduction Program (ARP) to lower accident rates and prevent traffic-related deaths and injuries on its highways.
Under its environmental sustainability pillar, Aleatica aims to eliminate fossil fuel use across all operations by 2050. To achieve this, its Mitigation, Adaptation, and Resilience Strategy has achieved a cumulative 23% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions from 2019 to 2023, targeting a 42% reduction by 2030, and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Additionally, the company has increased its consumption of certified renewable electricity sources by 55%.
Aleatica’s investments in the communities where it operates exceed 14 million euros and has brought tangible benefits to more than 33 thousand people.
The company has supported 52 different social projects related to road safety education, job creation, local entrepreneurship, and health. Notable initiatives include enhancing road safety in school zones, supporting women’s economic empowerment, and fostering development in agricultural communities.
Furthermore, with a user-centric approach, Aleatica optimized its feedback system and introduced a voice program for Roadside Assistance surveys. The number of users of its mobile app increased by 328%, with nearly 59,000 new downloads. These efforts reflect a high user satisfaction rating of 9 out of 10 points.
Under the Passion for our Team pillar, Aleatica reinforced its commitment to diversity and inclusion by increasing the number of women in leadership positions by 30% and reducing the gender pay gap by 11% in just one year. The company also invested approximately 80,000 hours in employee training, a 31% increase compared to 2022.
In terms of Corporate Governance, Aleatica conducted training and certification for all employees on cybersecurity, human rights, and anti-corruption issues. Additionally, 100% of its business units maintained their cybersecurity maturity levels.
These results demonstrate that Aleatica, in addition to focusing on improving urban and highway mobility, has established itself as a leader on ESG issues within its industry by setting the highest of standards.
